Amarillo, TX - The City of Amarillo's Park and Recreation and Community Development departments are unveiling a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Glenwood Splash Pad Wednesday.
The event, held at Glenwood Park, is on 2709 S. Mirror starting at 1:30 p.m.
The department will be there with games and activities, including a hot dog lunch provided by Chartwells.
The ceremony will feature remarks by Amarillo Mayor Paul Harpole, Community Development Advisory Committee Chairman Bill Bandy, and Community Development Administrator James Allen.
Amarillo's community partners in the project will also be recognized; The Amarillo Independent School District, Glenwood Elementary School staff, Kraftsman Commercial Playgrounds & Water Parks, the Community Development Advisory Committee, and staff from the City's Building Safety, Community Development, and Park maintenance departments.
The Splash Pad will be open for public use from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the week.
