Starting Monday, June 15th, the Amarillo Street Department will begin it's summer sealcoating project.
The preventative program is done about once every ten years for each street and will help protect residential roads. For the next three months crews will be working on select streets.
The streets this summer are located between I-40 and Amarillo boulevard from Georgia to Osage.
Residents in those areas will receive notices the Friday prior to the work being done reminding them to move their vehicles from the street.
Once started on a street city crews say it takes about two hours so traffic should not be too badly impacted. Loose rock will be swept away the day after the initial application.
