New DPS app provides instant access to sex offenders and most wanted

Amarillo, TX - The Department of Public Safety announced the launch of its mobile app, which gives Texans instant access to the state's Sex Offender Registry, Texas 10 Most Wanted program and other valuable resources.

The app is free to download and is available for iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets.DPS Director Steven McGraw said this app is a dynamic interactive link between the public and department.

"Today's digital age makes it imperative that Texans have easy and immediate access to an array of DPS programs, services and resources - and this app puts that power at their fingertips," McGraw said.

The DPS app allows users to submit tips for unwanted fugitives and report suspicious behavior from their mobile devices. It also allows users to view location-based information about human trafficking, registered sex offenders and more.

Key features include:

Easy-to-use and interactive maps for searching registered sex offenders by location, name, route and proximity.

Detailed information about current Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives and sex offenders, plus the ability to submit tips.

Ability to report suspicious activity to DPS through the iWatch Texas program.
