Bloomburg, Texas - An East Texas sheriff's deputy is on administrative leave after he fatally shot a man being sought on a felony warrant.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred Sunday in a rural area near Bloomburg.
The name of the 33-year-old man who died and further details on the warrant were not immediately released.
Chief Deputy Roy Barker says the deputy has been put on administrative leave until the shooting can be reviewed.
Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation of the incident.Bloomburg is a town of about 400, located 175 miles northeast of Dallas.
