Moore County Career and Tech Center looking to add more classes to benefit the community
Dumas, TX - After being open for not even a year, The Amarillo College Career and Tech Center in Dumas has seen an increase of enrollment in their technical programs.
Their technical program include renewable energy and industrial maintenance. Due to the increase of students, the Career and Tech Center wants to add more teachers and more classes.
The career and tech center is looking to add classes that fit the need the technical industry. Assistant Director for Continuing Education and Workforce Development through Amarillo College says the center is in the process of adding on a welding shop and a nursing program to Dumas. "So, that our students don't have to commute so far to get their classes," said Arias.
The Career and Tech Center also offers training classes for area employers. They can customize training to fit the need for local business, like leadership training, computer training and using heavymachinery.
The Career and Tech Center is in the middle of enrollment. Students can enroll all the way up until classes start on August 25th.
