Seattle, WA (PRWEB) July 17, 2014
Typing Agent, a leader in online keyboarding tutors for schools and districts from K-12th grade, is happy to announce the upcoming launch of their completely new and updated version of Typing Agent. Because kids are being exposed to keyboarding at a younger age than ever before and schools now need to teach K-2 students how to type, Typing Agent has strived to meet this demand and stay ahead of the technology curve. Typing Agent is following the trend in education and developing programs to meet the demand of teaching touch typing to younger students. Typing Agent is releasing a brand new version which includes an entire new learning world just for K-2nd grade called K2 Adventure. As students progress in their typing skills, they climb the famous K2 Mountain.
I have been teaching technology for 15 years, said Kris Peterson, Founder of Typing Agent. I have watched over the years students go from just being excited to sit in front of a computer to students at increasingly younger ages using all forms of technology. With the need to introduce students to technology ideas at earlier ages, keyboarding becomes a critical skill to allow the students to be the most productive. Our new K-2nd grade world is intended to help teachers reach these younger students.
With schools and districts scrambling to prepare for common core state standards and online assessments, Typing Agent brings the latest in technology available in keyboarding to schools, including the introduction of a first ever technology in keyboarding called typeSMART (US Patent Pending). typeSMART is an integrated algorithm built into Typing Agent 4.0 to help teachers asses where their class skills are currently and develop a road map for touch typing for the year. By assigning a unique Q-ScoreTM to each student, typeSMART also helps the teachers quickly identify the students that are exceeding in development, meeting development goals and flags those students that are at risk of falling behind in their development skills. With the introduction of typeSMART and Q score, these tools are likely to be game-changers for school districts looking at meeting common core requirements.
In order to come up with typeSMART, we really had to sit down and define what tools would help a student learn and what tools a teacher needed to help guide their students, Kris Peterson continued. We received input from districts, schools, research, and experience from our own program. We learned we needed it flexible, but smart enough to take the guess work out of learning to type. What we came up with is individual parts that make up a complete and intelligent system for maximizing keyboarding progress.
Both K2 Adventure and typeSMART are scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2014.
