Airman killed in Clovis wreck Sunday

Amarillo, TX - A Cannon Air Force Base Airmen was killed in a wreck Sunday in Clovis.The Clovis Police Department responded the intersection of 7th Street and Norris Street on a report of a single vehicle rollover collision.

Upon arrival of the scene, officers found evidence of a black Hyundai that was traveling at a high speed, westbound on 7th Street at the intersection of Marlene Blvd.

The evidence shows the Hyundai lost control and traveled into the parking lot of 2400 E. 7th Street and struck a protective fire hydrant barrier.

The Hyundai continued westbound through the parking lot of 2300 W. 7th Street and struck the west curb line of the lot. This caused the Hyundai to roll several times, ejecting the passenger from inside the vehicle.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the Hyundai are Airmen from Cannon Air Force Base with of base residences in Clovis.

The owner and driver of the vehicle has been identified as 20-year-old, Tylan Bolden. The passenger is identified as 22-year-old, Andrew Padilla.

The crash investigation is being conducted by the Clovis PD's Major Crash Team.

The investigation is ongoing as speed and alcohol are factors in the collision. No charges have been filed, but the team is working in conjunction with the 9th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
