Washington, D.C. - The chairman of the House committee that regulates spending says President Barack Obama's $3.7 billion emergency request for the border crisis will not be approved by the House.

Congressman Hal Rogers, chairman of the Appropriations Committee, says the presidents is asking for too much.

The Kentucky Republican says he realizes some immediate needs must be met in the flood of unaccompanied minors crossing the border illegally.

However, he says a portion of the request is already being taken care of in Congress' regular spending bills.
