Fiery police encounter

Cedar Hill, TX - Police say a man armed with a bottle of flammable liquid set himself and a police officer on fire before another officer shot him in a suburban Dallas shopping strip.

Three officers were burned with the suspect at a Cedar Hill Chicken Wing shop, with one being airlifted to a hospital in Dallas. City spokesman Corky Brown says the suspect also was taken to the hospital.

Police say the man was suspected in a nearby burglary when officers pursued him into the wing shop and tried to subdue him. One officer on scene said the suspect reeked of gasoline and was able to set himself and another officer on fire. Another officer eventually shot the suspect in the parking lot.

Officials have not released the conditions of the officers or the suspect yet.
