Ramble Across the Panhandle helps abused and neglected children

Posted: Updated:
Amarillo, TX - Helping abused and neglected children was the goal at this years Ramble Across the Panhandle motorcycle ride.

This is the second year the Amarillo Elks have hosted a 200 mile motorcycle poker run, benefiting the Rainbow Room.

At various stops along the way, prizes were offered for those with the best hand and the lowest hand. But, fundraiser chairman Lee Scott said the real winners are the children they are helping out. "It's great, anytime you can help out kids, I mean especially abused and neglected ones. They can't pick their parents so you help out where you can and it's a great feeling that you've touched some kids lives that otherwise would not have that," he told us.

Saturday's ride took bikers through Dalhart and Borger before returning to Amarillo.
