New Mexico residents offer land to attract Tesla

Albuquerque, N.M. - Multiple New Mexico residents are promising to donate their land to draw electric car company Tesla to the state.

Jon Barela, the state's economic development secretary, says offers have come from all over New Mexico.Businessman John Edward says he will donate up to 400 acres of his personal land to reward entrepreneurs such as the Tesla battery plant.

New Mexico is one of several states fighting for the battery plant's favor. Texas, Arizona, California, and Nevada have also been offering the company incentives as well as loosened environmental regulations in hopes to attract the company.
