Texas - Gray County Deputies are on paid administrative leave after responding to a shooting Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Gray County Sheriff's Office, the deputies responded to a 911 call near Highway 60 and County Rd. 9, just south of Pampa.

Deputies say they saw a man with a weapon, and said their lives were in danger.

They fired several shots at the suspect, wounding the man and the suspect was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

The Texas Rangers have been called in to investigate which is a standard procedure for any officer-involved shooting.
