Fritch Seniors prepare for prom this Saturday, as well as graduation in two weeks.

Amarillo, TX - Prom and graduation are approaching for Fritch seniors.

Many businesses and community members have already stepped up giving donations of all kinds-- but specifically to those students who plan to attend prom and who will be graduating this year.

Just two days after the wildfire in Fritch, students headed back to school this morning to continue to finish out their semester.

"We have students who lost, you know girls who lost their prom dresses." says Pam McClellan, Spanish teacher at Fritch High School.

With prom and graduation around the corner many  have lost their prom attire along with caps and gowns in the fire.
So Browns Flowers in Borger and Fritch are stepping up and giving away free boutonnieres and corsages for the juniors and seniors attending prom.

"When you have daddys calling in that their daughters have lost their dresses and you know, that's tough, and we just want to give back to our community, they give to us all the time so we just want to help the kids out and make it special," says Sharon Hiett, manager at Browns Flowers in Borger.

The wrist-lets are already being made and everything will be ready to be picked up this Friday.
Prom dresses, tuxedos and even gift cards for hair and makeup have been donated to the high school for it's students.

"There has been other members of the community , churches, all those who have came together to help volunteer if we needed anything, you know or anybody to talk to any items here at the school and it's been great to see everybody work together." says Jason Garrison, Principal of Fritch High School.

Spanish teacher Pam McClellan says this year will be one students will never forget.

"I hope it's very special, I mean I hope they can say we can rise above the tragedy that we have right here this week and every girl there needs to have the opportunity to be just as beautiful as the next and so I think it will be. I think all the kids as a whole are going to be together, I think they are going to be one at the prom."

Prom is this Saturday at 8 PM. Graduation is still scheduled for May 30th.
