UPDATE: Citizens of Fritch still not allowed inside burned area

Fritch, TX - The City of Fritch held a meeting Tuesday at City Hall to give residents better information on what they can expect.

The meeting was packed with worried a frustrated residents. The main question on people's mind was "When can I go home?"

Officials say no one is allowed into the affected areas unless they need immediate assistance, which would be if someone needed medication or to get their cat or dog.

But as far as people just checking to see if their house is OK, that's not allowed.

The fire sits at 85 percent contained. 2583 acres are burned, and they don't see that going up.

Officials are working on getting updates reported by this afternoon of structures that have been damaged, destroyed or untouched.  As of now, 156 structures are destroyed.

We are told 91 workers are on the scene continuing their house-to-house search, most of which are utility companies preparing for people to return to the area.

The Sheriff is hoping people will be allowed back in by the end of the day, but there is no guarantee.
