Bike donations bring smiles to 22 local children

Posted: Updated:
Twenty two children in our community who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect received new bicycles on Saturday.

At Saturday's Coffee Memorial Bike Month kick off celebration, the Tascosa Cycling Club presented the new bikes and helmets to the Presbyterian Children's Home.

The home in Amarillo helps around 80 children each year raining from 5 to 18 years old.

"The Children's Home does great work and we are truly blessed by the community and Old Tascosa's involvement with the Children's Home. Without them we wouldn't have had these bikes," said Mary Alt with the Presbyterian Children's Home.

There was also a cookout, a blood drive and bike ride to celebrate the "Share Life, Share the Road" event sponsored by the Coffee Memorial Blood Center.
