DPS hosts benefit lunch to help fellow Trooper

Amarillo, TX - If you're making lunch plans today The Department of Public Safety is encouraging you to eat for a great cause.

Trooper Wanda Raney recently suffered the loss of her mother and short after, suffered the loss of her son and daughter-in-law after they were killed in a car accident.

She is raising 7 grandchildren all on her own and DPS says every cent will help her with expenses.

The Randall County Sheriff's Hangar at 9100 S. Georgia is where DPS is hosting the benefit today from 11-2 pm.

For 5 dollars, you can get a hamburger, chips, desert and drink but most of all, help a trooper who has fallen on hard times.

You can also help by donating to the Waylon Varner Scholarship Fund.
