Plano, TX -
A major car manufacturer is calling the lone star state it's new home. Toyota announced on Monday it's decision to move its U.S. Headquarters from California to Plano, Texas.
According to Plano's director of economic development, once the company announced it's plan to move, the city aggressively starting making the campaign for the new headquarters by offering Toyota $40 million in incentives from the taxpayer-funded Texas Enterprise Fund. Officials say within the next three years they will consolidate three separate North American headquarters into one campus in Plano. This move will also affect about four-thousand employees.
Toyota says the majority of these employees will not move until construction is complete in late 2016 or early 2017.
