BSA helping to keep Amarillo healthy April 27, 2014 at 12:24 AM CDT - Updated July 27 at 7:50 AM One area hospital is giving back to hundreds of locals by helping them identify risk factors for certain diseases. Saturday morning BSA hosted a free health fair. Experts on heart disease, stroke and diabetes were on hand to answer questions.Adults also had the chance to have blood drawn, and cholesterol checked. Saturday's goal was to help identify risk factors for metabolic syndrome. If undetected and untreated, metabolic syndrome can lead to certain diseases like heart disease, diabetes or even stroke.
