Amarillo man arrested after car and foot chase

Amarillo, TX - Two are arrested after a car and foot chase in the Rolling Hills neighborhood.

The Amarillo Police Department received a call Tuesday, April 22, 2014 on a stolen vehicle.

An officer traveling on River Road at Willow Creek noticed a vehicle with two occupants that fit the description of the stolen vehicle.

The driver then took off at a high speed rate north bound on River Road. The vehicle was last seen going north on River Road then turning west bound on Cherry and later into the Rolling Hills neighborhood.

Additional officers responded to the area and began searching for the vehicle and suspects.
The vehicle stopped and officers chased the two suspects on foot in the Rolling Hills neighborhood.

The driver, 22 year old Grant Curtis, was arrested for evading arrest and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The female passenger was also arrested, but later released.

The vehicle was recovered behind a residence in the 200 block of Rolling Trail and released to the owner.

    Construction is underway on Canyon's new aquatic park, which is still on schedule to open to the public on June 1st. The aquatic park is just a bunch of holes in the ground right now. But when the slides go up (by April 10th), people will start to see how close the project is to completion.
