Clovis man found guilty of drug trafficking for third time

Clovis, NM - An area man is found guilty of trafficking controlled substances.

36 year old Sergio James of Clovis was found guilty of selling crack cocaine to an undercover officer in 2011.

James is currently serving an 18 year sentence in the New Mexico department of corrections on a previous drug trafficking conviction.

This is James' third conviction for trafficking controlled substances, a first degree felony.

He faces a mandatory 18 years in prison for the current conviction

The state intends to seek a consecutive sentence to his previous conviction for a total sentence of 36 years.
