AMARILLO, TX (KFDA)
Around 1,000 people participated in the 4th Annual Autism Awareness Walk Saturday morning.
The event kicked off at 9 a.m. at Sam Houston Park.
Community vendors were present to help offer information on Autism and the different services that Amarillo has to offer.
"It helps raise awareness, and all of them are helping to support individuals with autism. And also, we're making, maybe, future jobs for people by getting them connected with the companies that are here," said Karen Day with Specialized Therapy Services.
Money raised from the event will help the "Amarillo Autism in Action Awareness" group to spread their message of community awareness.
