Amarillo students looking to join a U.S. Service Academy had a chance Saturday to learn more about achieving their goals.
The free event gave interested students and parents a chance to talk to representatives from various military academies, including West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy, among others.
Congressman Mac Thornberry was supposed to be at the educational event, but was called back to Washington for business.
However, students say they were still able to gain valuable knowledge and information.
People from all across the panhandle came to the Amarillo Southwest Library Branch for Saturday's event.
