Amarillo, TX - The high-speed winds and blowing dust caused problems for drivers across the panhandle Thursday afternoon.
On FM 1912, east of Amarillo, a five-car pile-up took place just north of Interstate 40.
No major injuries were reported, but extremely low visibility due to the blowing dust is believed to be the cause of the crashes.
And on I-40, the wind was responsible for turning over a few vehicles.
Several trucks and trailers were blown off the road by the high winds.
Drivers are urged to remain off the roads, if at all possible, until the wind subsides.
