Two more Texas abortions clinics are closing. The reason, new restrictions placed on the facilities by the state legislature.
Ten clinics have already closed because of the new law passed late last year which strictly limits where, when, how and from whom women can obtain abortions.
Owner of the Whole Woman's Health Clinic in McAllen says Republican lawmakers have made it impossible for her to keep her clinics open. The McAllen clinic is the last open in the Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas.
Now, her Beaumont location is the only clinic between Houston and the Louisiana border. A major part in this law is that doctors are required to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.
Abortion rights groups are challenging the law in court, arguing it has no medical basis.
