AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - State Sen. Wendy Davis says she's ready for what will be an uphill fight to become Texas' next governor.
Davis clinched the Democratic nomination Tuesday night in the race to replace Gov. Rick Perry. She'll face state Attorney General Greg Abbott in November.
Addressing supporters in her hometown of Fort Worth, Davis said she'll push new investments in education and "an economy built for the jobs of tomorrow."
She accused Abbott of being a "defender of the status quo."
