AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo, TX - Athletes from the Amarillo Venom football team took off their cleats and laced up their basketball shoes for a charity game Saturday afternoon.
Players faced off with local church groups to raise money for the Renee's Circle of Friends scholarship fund.
Event organizer Tamikka Williams said the group was started by her aunt back in 2008 in memory of her mother.
Renee's Circle of Friends helps give back to the community by feeding the homeless and providing prom dresses to students, among other things.
Prior to the game, kids were able to participate in a Fit Camp hosted by Venom players in the Amarillo College Gym.
