The White House is taking a step towards keeping our children healthier while in school that moves beyond just the lunch line.
New rules are expected to be proposed by the White House and the Agriculture Department limiting the marketing of unhealthy foods in schools all across the country.
The new rules would phase out the advertising of sugary drinks and junk foods around campuses and would ensure that any promotions in schools are in like with health standards that apply to school foods.
This would including schools having to make changes to scoreboards with advertisements, vending machines, cups, menu boards, and posters.
These rules will be announced Tuesday by Michelle Obama as part of the First Lady's "Let's Move" initiative to combat childhood obesity.
The initiative is celebrating it's fourth anniversary this week, and the announcement will be part of that celebration at the White House Tuesday.
