New exhibit at Discovery Center encourages hands on fun

Posted: Updated:
Amarillo, TX -

A new hands on exhibit at the Discovery Center is attracting kids of all ages.

The exhibit, which will be open through May is full of Lego building blocks.

The Discovery Center is renting the building blocks from a museum in Indianapolis. Although the toys may look small, Amy Juba, the Director of Development and Marketing at the Discovery Center told us setting up the exhibit was a big undertaking.

"Two days you would have never thought we would have gotten it all done. The Little Builders came in last week, and took us 2 or 3 days to put up. Lego Adventure came in on Monday and so it took all hands on deck. We had a crew of 10 to 15 people literally putting together piece by piece every component of this exhibit," she said.

Juba also told us the exhibit would not be possible without the help and sponsorship of local business that helped bring the Lego display to Amarillo.
