George W. Bush presidential records made public

Records from President George W. Bush's time in office will now be available to the public. The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum is set to begin accepting Freedom of Information Act requests for records from Bush's presidency.

Monday marks five years since the end of Bush's presidency. The Presidential Records Act says records may be requested by the public five years after the president administration ends. The library which opened last year of the Southern Methodist University campus will begin taking those request starting Monday.

All requests must be in written format either by email, mail, or fax, and must state that the request is being made under the Freedom of Information Act.

The library has said that the process will take some time. They are expecting there to be a high volume of requests, and have also mentioned because of the complexity of president records, that will add some time to any requests.
