Man in custody after barricading himself in local church

Amarillo, TX - A man is in the Randall County Jail after police say he sparked an Amarillo church to go into lock-down.

Around noon Hillside Christian Church members told police a man who had been threatening a pastor showed up on thier property claiming he was armed.

The church placed thier facility in lock-down but the man made it inside. Police say it took a short while for negotiators to convince the man to come outside.

No weapon was found. The suspect, 36 year old David Michael Stolz is charged with trespassing.

The case remains under investigation.
