Clovis Lady Wildcats off to a good start

Posted: Updated:

Clovis, NM - What the Jeff Reed led Clovis Lady Wildcat basketball team has done so far this season is nothing short of impressive.

They are 12-0 and currently ranked number one in the 5-A division of New Mexico, including a number 36 ranking in the nation. They haven't just faced in-state opponents either, they have knocked off some good West Texas teams as well, including Palo Duro, Caprock, and Canyon.

The Lady Wildcats returned four starters from their 30-2 state championship team last year and are led by junior guard Danni Williams, the 2013 State Player of the Year, who according to maxpreps.com is averaging 20.7 points, 3 assists and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Their most recent victory was a 76-25 victory over the number one ranked team in 3-A for New Mexico. Up next for the Lady Wildcats is the Cleveland High School Storm in Rio Rancho.
