APD busy during New Years Eve patrols

Amarillo, Texas - New Year's Eve meant a very busy night for Amarillo police officers.

APD responded to close to 400 calls ranging from normal every day calls to weapons, robberies and numerous intoxication calls.

The officers who were working under the TxDOT grant made four DUI arrests, three arrests for possession of marijuana and one municipal arrest on New Year's Eve.

They also issued around 35 traffic violations.

Officers working their normal duties made five DUI arrests making the total nine for the night.
