Amarillo, Texas - Two fires over night had crews in Amarillo busy Friday morning.
Crews were called to the 900 block of Mississippi just after 2 o'clock where a shed in the backyard of the residence was on fire.
First responding crews called a second alarm due to the wind carrying embers as far as 10th and Carolina streets. Embers from the blaze caused a nearby utility pole to burn as well as attached power lines.
A second shed in the same yard also caught fire due to winds, and a neighbor's fence. The second alarm was a precaution to prevent any further fires from spreading. Fire officials tell us there were no injuries reported.
Before then, fire crews were called to another fire in the area of 24th and Roberts streets around 12:30. A shed at a home here was also on fire.
Crews on scene say there were large flames they were battling. There were no injuries reported at the time, and no threats to other homes at this fire.
Officials are still investigating a cause at both incidents.
