Amarillo, TX - The multiple fatal accidents that happened over the weekend are causing a blood supply shortage at the Coffee Memorial Blood Center in Amarillo.
The accidents completely depleted the center's blood supply and now Coffee Memorial is trying to play catchup before the Thanksgiving holiday. Normally it just tries to stock up during this time of year, but now it has to do both.
The center will be extending hours on Tuesday from 5:30 in the morning to 7 at night. NewsChannel 10's Ali Allison will be at Tuesday's blood drive to collect cans of food for the High Plains Food Bank. If you bring in five cans, you will receive a free cook book.
All blood donors will receive a free t-shirt and a gallon of milk. The center will also be raffling off prizes throughout the day.
