Bowie, TX - A bus of cheerleaders from Amarillo High School was involved in an accident near Bowie, Texas around 11:30 Thursday morning.
There were 21 people on the bus including the students, a coach and the bus driver.
The bus was on its way to Garland, Texas for a state volleyball tournament.
According to AISD spokesperson Holly Shelton, the bus was side-swiped by a car and the driver of the bus was not at fault.
Shelton said nobody in the bus was injured. The bus, Shelton said, was drivable after the accident but the bus company AISD contracts with, First Students, sent another bus to take students on to Garland. As of 4:30 Thursday afternoon, the students were still waiting for another bus to show up.
