United Way holds victory luncheon

Amarillo, TX - Thursday many businesses and organizations from Amarillo and Canyon gathered for the United Way Victory Luncheon.

The United Way celebrated surpassing their goal and raising 5.5 million dollars.

All money raised this year will be donated to local charities such as the Maverick Boys and Girls Clubs and many more.

In 2012, funds went to help over 87,000 people in the Amarillo and Canyon areas.

    Drivers in downtown Amarillo could soon be dealing with fewer one-way streets. It all has to do with the parking garages going up on Buchanan Street. Cars will need to exit right and left on 7th and 8th Avenues, and right now it's against city ordinance to turn left out of any parking garage in the city.
