Charity asks residents to donate grocery store reward stickers

Amarillo, TX - Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle is asking area residents who shop at United Supermarkets, Market Street or Amigos to donate their reward stickers.

Now through the middle of March, shoppers at those grocery stores earn reward stickers every time they spend and can redeem them for kitchen appliances. Catholic Charities said it is in need of those appliances to give to families living in their affordable housing units.

"We have people that move into those apartments that don't necessarily have all the cookware and the things that they need," said Catholic Charities representative Judy Neill. "And I thought this was an opportunity that if we were to collect the stickers, and we were able to get several sets hopefully of cookware, then we could turn around and give that to a low income individual or family."

Catholic Charities has more than 50 families living in their apartments. With it taking 100 reward stickers to get a free pan, the organization needs a lot of stickers.
