High speed chase suspect released from hospital, booked into jail

Amarillo, TX - The man involved in a high speed chase through Amarillo early Monday morning has been released from a local hospital and booked into the Potter County Jail.

Amarillo police say around 5:00 Monday morning Luis Jaramillo attempted to run from officers and fell down an embankment on the Canyon E-way.

Officers report Jaramillo jumped out of his car in the 3300 block of Canyon Drive and headed toward the median, where he was tased.

The nearly hour long chase began in Amarillo's Eastridge area and led APD through several neighborhoods around the city.|

Jaramillo has been booked and charged with evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
