AMARILLO - An area office is offering help to about 100 workers left without a job.
Sunland Inc. peanut processing plant in Portales closed it's doors last week after filing for bankruptcy.
The 25-year-old company cited the shutdown to financial problems following a salmonella outbreak back in 2011.
This Wednesday, the Clovis Workforce Connection office will is offering a free workshop for former Sunland employees to help them file for unemployment and update their resumes.
One session in English will be held at 10 a.m. and one in Spanish at 1:30 p.m.
The workforce connection office is even offering free transportation from Portales to Clovis for the workshop. For more information, call 575-763-3155.
