Drivers in Amarillo may notice new red light cameras at four of the city's intersections.
The new locations, being activated this week, include West Amarillo Boulevard and Tascosa Road, East Amarillo Boulevard and North Fillmore, East Amarillo Boulevard at North Pierce, and South Taylor and SW10th Avenue.
The camera previously at South Pierce and SE 3rd has been moved to the Amarillo Boulevard and Tascosa Road intersection because the city says there were very few accidents or violations.
City data shows that accidents have decreased at all five original locations, after the cameras were installed between 2007 and 2008.
Data also reveals that this year, 66.5% of those fines have been collected, which equals out to around $1.3 million dollars in revenue for the city.
That money is used to fund other traffic related projects in Amarillo and pay for the red light cameras.
