Hit-and-run leaves one in life-threatening condition

A hit-and-run accident in the early morning hours Sunday sent several people to the hospital, one of them with life-threatening injuries.

Police say it happened just before one o'clock Sunday morning in the 8000 Block of East Amarillo Blvd. A Chevy pickup rear ended another vehicle going east on the Blvd and then fled the scene. The passenger of the vehicle that was struck had to be removed by the fire department and taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.

The driver was also taken to the hospital and treated. Both the driver and passenger of Chevy, suspect vehicle were caught following the wreck. The driver, 20-year-old Diego Ramirez was booked into the Potter County Jail for Accident Causing Injury or Death.

The incident is still being investigated.
