APD catch alleged suspect involved in personal robbery

Amarillo police were called out early Sunday morning on reports of a personal robbery in the parking lot of a local convenience store.

According to police, just before 3:30 Sunday morning, a 45-year-old white male was walking out of the Toot'N Totum store at 4500 S. Western when he was suddenly attacked. The victim was knocked to the ground, where the suspect sat on top of the victim and attempted to rob him.

Unable to take any property from the victim, the suspect then fled on foot. Responding officers found the suspect shortly after on the third floor of apartments in the 4200 block of Paramount.

The suspect, 25-year-old Jermaine Campbell was booked into the Randall County Jail on charges of Robbery, Evading Arrest/Detention with a previous conviction. The victim only sustained minor injuries.
