Man arrested on several charges after auto burglary

Amarillo, TX - An Amarillo man is placed behind bars and faces four charges after leading police on a short foot chase.

Police say Monday evening they noticed a male subject prowling around businesses near I-40 and Bell.

When they approached him, officers report he began to run and threw several stolen items onto the ground, including a handgun.

The pursuit ended with the arrest of 36 year-old William Pachta. Officers connected some of the stolen items to a vehicle that had recently been broken into.

Pachta was booked into the Potter County jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, evading arrest, burglary of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
