Nationwide ground beef recall

Posted: Updated:

A beef recall due to concerns of E. coli contamination affects retailers, wholesalers and food service distributors nationwide.

50,000 pounds of ground beef shipped across the United States is being recalled after a routine inspection was done by the USDA.

The meat was produced by the National Beef Packing Company, based out of Kansas, on July 18th.

Products were shipped in 40 to 60 pound cases and were sold under the names National Beef, Nature Source and Nature Well.

They carry the USDA mark of inspection, bearing the establishment number "EST. 208A."

So far, there have been no reported illnesses.

This isn't the first incident for the company, back in June they recalled 22,000 pounds of beef also over concerns of E. coli contamination.
