GO TEXAN Restaurant Round-Up


Hundreds more area residents are going hungry this year than last. Our area is joining the state to help combat this problem.

More than a dozen restaurants across the panhandle are participating in the only week-long statewide, dine-out event benefiting our area's food bank.

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples kicked off GO TEXAN Restaurant Round-Up at the Big Texan Steak Ranch. 
More than 400 participating restaurants across Texas will make donations to local food banks to help feed those who are hungry.

The High Plains Food Bank says this event will help provide meals to more than 9,000 families. Executive Director Zack Wilson says, "It's very important to us. And it comes at a time where we're still at a very high need especially in the summer. And this is an opportunity for everyone to get involved to help the food bank."

Wilson says they're currently serving about 700 hundred more families this year than last.
