One dead, three injured in Deaf Smith county rollover

A one-vehicle rollover in Deaf Smith county Saturday afternoon leaves one person dead and three more injured.

It happened about 4:45 Saturday afternoon on US 385. The back left tire of the vehicle blew out, the driver overcorrected, rolling the SUV several times before it landed upright. Both backseat passengers were ejected from the car.

The driver, 30-year-old Ricardo Delacruz and 16-year-old Joel Alvarado were injured and taken to the Hereford Regional Medical Center. Twenty-nine-year-old Victor Riz Tum was also injured, but was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo with an incapacitating injury. Twenty-year-old Antonio Garcia was killed in the wreck.

Neither Garcia nor Riz Tum were wearing their seatbelts.
