Area drivers aren't afraid to get dirty in 'Boggin' for Babies'

Posted: Updated:

Getting your car stuck in the mud sounds like a bad Saturday to most, but Saturday afternoon, local drivers were doing just that, on purpose.

Some 250 people and 50 drivers got their hands, and tires, a little dirty in Saturday's "Boggin' for Babies" just south of Canyon as adults and kids alike took turns racing their vehicle of choice through a huge mud pit. Hosted by Special Delivery, Saturday's filthy fundraiser was aimed at raising money to help support the local adoption agency. An important event, organizers say, since they receive no funding from the government.

"We try to keep our prices low for couples to make adoption possible, so fundraiser's like this help us keep prices low for our couples," said Beth Mowry with Special Delivery.

In addition to raising money for Special Delivery, organizers are also hoping Saturday's mud fun will help raise awareness for their mission. Special Delivery in a local non profit group, they've been licensed since 2006.
