Abortion debate coming to an end

Some of the toughest abortion regulations in the country face a deadline tonight.

The 30-day legislative special session ends at midnight; that's when we will find out the outcome of the controversial abortion debate.

If the bill passes, it could essentially shut down most abortion clinics in Texas.

The decision now lies in the hands of the Senate, where Democrats are expected to block Republican efforts.

One of the key components is a ban on abortions after 20 weeks.

It would also change where women could get abortion, among other things.

Democrats say the 20 week ban would force women trying to make an already difficult decision to try and abort by taking dangerous and unsafe measures.

This could potentially result in severe medical consequences.

Those for the bill say this is about protecting women and the unborn life who they believe can feel pain in the womb at 20 weeks.

Democrats plant to filibuster the bill until midnight but Governor Rick Perry could always call another special session.

That will cause some problems when people try to exit the new parking garage onto, well, any street surrounding it. The city believes the solution to this problem, along with gett...
