Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo kicks off

Amarillo, Texas - The Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo kicks off Friday, June 7th at noon at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.

The rodeo will run until midnight Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight. It will be a barbecuing, picnicking, dancing, celebrating working ranch rodeoing weekend.

Admission is $12.00 for adults and $7.00 for children ages 7 to 12. Admission includes "Food & Brew," Rodeo and dance. Events will include an outdoor rodeo dance, kid's rodeo and world championship washer pitching.

The rodeo showcases actual events that cowboys participate in on a daily basis on their ranches. Working ranches from across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles and New Mexico compete in events like wild cow milking, branding and bronco riding.

The Coors Cowboy Club took over the rodeo, which became their primary fundraiser. The Cowboy Club uses the proceeds to give back to the community by cooking for several organizations. But it isn't just traveling around and feeding people these men do.

"The big thing that we're very very proud of is that we have a scholarship program. But it's primarily designed for the ranch families be it a wife, or child, or a ranch cowboy or whatever. If they want to continue their education and get a higher education degree, well that's what we've got the funds for," Vance Reed, a founder of the club says.

Reed says the purpose of the club is spreading the cowboy way, caring about their neighbors and other people.
