New business will bring about 100 jobs

Amarillo, TX- A groundbreaking will bring dozens of jobs to the area.

Around 100 jobs are going to be available for area residents with the new Bennigan's coming to Pampa. There will be positions for managers, servers and hostesses.

The CEO of the chain, Paul Mangiamele, says they chose Pampa because it's in their radar. Currently there's a Bennigan's in Borger, and they're going to bring one back to Amarillo next year. Mangiamele says the one in Amarillo closed about five years ago because the previous owners had poor management, but the chain is now in new hands with new plans.

The local owner of the new Bennigan's in Pampa, Nimit Patel, is from the city, and he says he wants Pampa to go back to its roots, a boomtown. Patel says, "Why can't we have those things here? Why must we drive all the way to Amarillo? Why must we put people on the road? You know, it creates growth for the city. Allows for people to come in from out of town to shop locally, you know have dinner."

The Bennigan's in Pampa is expected to open beginning of next year. If you are interested in applying for a job with the chain, you can send your resume to benniganspampa@gmail.com .
